Do you have to use the Easton Broadhead Adapter Rings on the Axis arrow? Are the rings used to protect the shaft from damage?

I shoot Axis Full Metal Jacket shafts, and have never used a BAR.

Mr. fingers

I think they are more for heads like thunderheads where the shaft is used to retain the blades in the furrel.
Or to taper the head to the shaft.

Thanks guys.
So your field pts and broadheads just screw right onto the shaft with no ill effect while against the bare shaft? Right? This the first time for me trying axis..guess I need to get use to it. Thanks again.

Yes! On my FMJ's that is correct.

The adaptor rings can also be used with your field points if they are a larger diameter than the shaft. You can use a 5/16" point, for example, on your Axis shaft, which is less in diameter. It tapers the back of the point, so you can pull the arrow from targets.
