Samick Sage 45 pounds

28 inch DL if I measure it correct? I just put a tape on my grip and and pulled back to my anchor.

125 grain heads  I have a million so I wont to make them work

Aluminum is my thing Hate carbons and not rich enough for wood

factory string no real desire for fast flight unless it might quite the bow ?

planning on cutting the arrows to 29 or 30

Getting back into this and I really want to get good but know if I go about it wrong I will likely always struggle

Rough Run

I shoot a 45# recurve, as well.  2016s, 125gr point, 30.5" to back of point with a 29" draw.  Shoots 145gr points with no visible difference.  I suspicion that it would shoot equally well with 1916s w/125 gr, but have not had an opportunity to find out.  May not be the same for you, just a starting point.  Hope you find what works for you!

I use 2016s 28.5" BOP and 145gr points with both a 40# recurve with B50 string and a 47# recurve with fast flight both at 26" DL. The heavier bow shoots bullet holes through paper, lighter gets good flight but haven't paper tested it. Two different set ups shows there is some flexibility but each is unique as is the shooter. 2016s with 125gr points at your proposed length may work out for you.

You can put a clothes pin (the spring kind) on your arrow, the draw as normally as you can and then measure the length.

I shoot 1916's and draw 28" & 45#. Arrow cut at 29.5"

I see Cabelas is selling legacy 2016 fletched and cut for 76. I am also searching for a dozen older arrows that I can fletch up with on the internet. My bow shoots 2114 with mediocre flight so I have arrows to play with for right now.

I shoot the exact same bow with the same draw length. Go check out Big Jims Archery and get yourself some GT blems- 1535 or 3555 both shoot just fine with 125tip. . Can't beat the price. Do you have a reason for not liking carbon shafted arrows?

I prefer aluminum's for many reason. I like being able to just rake a knife across them for de fletching. I like using heated glue and fine them to be more forgiving when tuning. For the price they are almost expendable compered to any carbon arrow with their straightness tolerance.

I grew up on them and like to be diffrent?

I use woods cause I'm too cheap for aluminum lol.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

I like the the GT Trad blems too.  Probably 1535's, 3555's if you leave them long.

You can use BigJim's hot melt glue on carbons. That's what a lot of us use.  Carbons are usually  tuffer than aluminum are. Aluminum bend to easy on my experience with with.

Cabelas has legacy a for 76 in 2016 those will work for you if your not using fast flight. That's your best bet. My 45  pound bows like 2018 s but I think a 2016 will be decent.
