2216's

someone recommended 2216's for my bow
50 pound savannah.
I am looking at changing my set up this year.
Ive struggled getting this bow to shoot an arrow to my satisfaction.
been shooting 2016 and 2018 in the past.

Anyone have luck with 2216's

They are two stiff unless you put a ton of weight on the front.Depending on length and point weight,you should be able to perfectly tune 2016 and 2018's to your bow but tuning is key.

I shoot 2117's and 2216's out of my 52# Black tail. They are cut 31" with a 165gr " no mercy " Zwickey on the front end. They fly very well and are durable for stump shooting. The larger diameter gives plenty room for my helical fletch. If you shoot lighter heads on a short arrow they may not work as well though.

My 50# Super Grizzly likes them . They are cut to 29" with 125 gr. Points .

I have a Great Plains swift that loves a 2216. Great thing with aluminums is so many spine options to give you point weight choices. In my opinion smaller diameter with a thicker wall like 2018 helps put the arrow closer to center and helps me get better tuning versus shooting something like a 2413. But every bow likes different shafts. No set standard for  what you have to shoot. Shoot what works best.

2216 is the size I shot from a BW 66#, non FF. I KNOW if you work the numbers you can get heavy spine to fly out of lower weight bows but I do not like loggy flight. I would look at 2018 if you leave them long and use a heavy BH.

I'd try for a 2117 that's one of my go to shafts for bows in that range. They can be had in the cheaper game getter make up too.

unless you have a 30" draw they are most likely to stiff.
if 28" draw try 1916s at 29"with 125 gr. heads.

I don't know how a Savannah is cut,but I doubt if it's cut deeper than my recurves.They are 50# and I tuned some 2016's and 2018's to them once.The shafts were 29.25".The 2016 took a 100 gr adapter and a 145 gr point and came out,573 grs.The 2018 took a 100 gr adapter and a 175 gr point and ended up,650 grs.

I later increased draw length so a 30" arrow would  require less,up front weight.2216's are spined 20# heavier.

I would go back to the 2016's and play with a wide variety of field point weights till you find where it is TUNED.I would do no cutting or shaft changing till I found that spot.After that,you could make a change if you have to.

You made no mention of your draw length,arrow length or any type of tuning.If you haven't been able to get good flight with the 2016's yet,you will be swinging at windmills,changing to 85# shafts,on a suggestion.Good luck.
