Many here knew and lamented Brett Kauffman's untimely passing earlier this year... Many in PA came to his club's Standing Stone shoots in Central PA In Port Royal, PA.  God called Brett home far too young.  His young wife, Shelly, sent me this notice for a Brett Kauffman MEMORIAL shoot.  Details are sketchy at this moment, but the dates are set.

Sounds like all will be similar to their historical Father's Day Shoot of years past...great location, excellent courses. Good camping, excellent food for cheap and the nicest bunch of caring people you ever wanted to meet...

Come one, come all for the 3 days or for a day outing one of the 3 and enjoy a tribute to our fallen friend...Brett Kauffman... RIP, Brett, you were loved and respected by many!

Standing Stone Traditional Archers of Port Royal PA will be holding the Brett Kauffman Memorial 3-Day Traditional Archery Rendezvous on September 2, 3 and 4, 2016. Details are still being established by those taking over the shoot, but Brett's wife says not much, if anything, will change.  More information can be obtained from the club's website at:  ]http://juniatasportsmens.org/standing-stone-traditional-archers/[/url]

I had shoulder surgery so won't be shooting bow till likely too late for our TN season... Surgeon is a bit conservative, so I can't attend and the 20 hr r.t would have been daunting... but I'll be there in spirit...

GREAT picture of ole Brett on the website link above.  :)   Sure do miss him... Heard from a few guys I emailed they're going to try...sure hope so... the club and the family could use the support!

Thanks for the info Doc. I shot there with the Shaw's the year before Brett's illness, what a great shoot they put on! Nice club and good folks. I'll be there!!!

Hey John, we'll have to shoot a round.

Doc Nock

Thanks, guys. I really liked those folks.  First year I went up early, set up camper, helped Brett set up a couple courses.  What genuine folks they all are!!!  I helped in other years with a few novelty shoots as they're always short-handed.

Like most "clubs" 10% due 90% of the work...shame.

I know the family and trad members of club will be grateful for your attendance...

Sling a few for me...  :)

I am certain that his wife Shelly, his young children, his Dad and Mom and others who do all the work, will be most appreciative!

Wish I could...

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
