We are looking at going there for a moose hunt in 2017. Doing some research on them any chance any one has hunted with them?  Thanks

Have not hunted with them but I am familiar with the area.  My dad and I used to fish up there just a few miles south of Nakina.  We saw moose every trip up there.  The walleye fishing is great if you have the chance while you are there. The bugs can be pretty horrific.

If we go we will have our fishing poles for sure.  Thanks

Have wanted to moose hunt more than about anything.  I never have yet and will be interested in what you learn.  I am also going to be looking at 2017.  My understanding is that tags are less available due to sharp decline in moose population.  If you need a 4th guy in a party or something, let me know!  Ha ha (half serious...or maybe a little more!).
We have a cabin up about an hour and half north of the Saulte and mostly just fish it for trout (Ranger Lk).  Iove that country more than about any other area and its a blast to canoe.  A moose hunt would be icing on the cake...

...PS-  My favorite book as a kid Traplines North, took place right there in Nakina.

My first bear hunt, and favorite of the four Ontario hunts I've done, was just off of ranger lake road.    Beautiful area.  Really wish that outfitter was still outfitting.

Not sure what happened there.    The first bear hunt I did back in 2008, and my favorite of the four Ontario hunts I've done, was just off of ranger lake road . Beautiful area.   Wish that outfitter wouldn't have stopped outfitting.

It's a good area! You just have to get as far away from main roads as you can.
