A friend of mine gave me some scraps of wood and there was a small piece of Red Heart that was to small to make a knife handle with .
So I made this little skinner with it .
The problem I'm having is , it's to short for a regular sheath , so I will either make a full holster , flap over , or a neck sheath .
I can't make up my mind .    :dunno:
So how about some input from some of you and the reason for whitch style .
The blade is 2" and the handle is 3 1/2"

Definitely a neck sheath sort of knife!

I have only made one other knife like this about 25 years ago .
This guy that I worked with wanted a small skinner with a wrist strap .
He used it with the strap around his wrist and he would just drop the knife so he could fist the hide and could just reach down and pick up the knife when he needed it .
He claimed it worked very well , but never had a sheath for it because he didn't carry it .

I prefer a flap over with a snap closure to keep the knife from falling out. I sometimes carry a neck knife at rendezvous, but don't really like it.

Make a sheath on an armguard like one of asbells. Or make a sheath that fits over your belt buckle.

I like the idea of a full holster that rides parallel with the belt and a wrist strap/lanyard. Maybe put a peg or hook (like on an armguard) to wrap the lanyard around while in the sheath, which would help to keep the knife from falling out, or having it get pulled out by snagging the lanyard on something.

Looks like a great knife!

I really like flap over sheaths. I never could get comfortable with a neck sheath.

Nice knife!

Thanks for the input .
Hadn't thought of a parallel belt sheath , that's a thought too .

I also prefer the neck knife/sheath.  Nice graps!
