Sitting in the pop-up blind this Maine turkey opener listening to the rain on the roof.Do you think this noise scares away game?Didn't see any but that's not unusual anyway.
were it worth the trouble? Huh? What trouble?

Orion

Nope.  Rain makes noise hitting other stuff as well.

Sure is nice sitting in that blind when it rains.  You get to watch another side of the forest in the rain...and you are dry!  Until you fold the darn thing up.  Agree, does not matter as it I'd louder in there than outside

I have a ground blind made out of galvanized metal. It is tucked in under a tree. When it rains I get big drops off the tree on top. Sounds loud as heck inside, but the deer don't seem to ever pay any attn to it.

Not a problem. My biggest concern with rain is during deer archery season and what it can do to a blood trail.

Without the blind I wouldn't be out there anyway. Also I find that the pitter patter of rain on the blind covers the sound of my snoring... oh and flatulence. Still doesn't contain the scent.    :D

Heavy rain may make deer less active, so if that happens, it makes the sound on your blind just another noise in the rain. However, they don't always lay low in the rain, so stay vigilant. You can't hear them as well either, which means they may get very, very close before you detect them. If your blind is effective in the dry, it will be good in the wet. Good luck.

I don't usually archery hunt for deer in the rain for the same reason that dbd870 stated. That may change now that I have one of Chad Ordes string trackers. It is loud inside when the big drops from the trees are hitting it.The patter on the roof puts me to sleep as well Charlie. Maybe that's why I don't see anything. Thanks all for the input,it gives me a little more confidence in the blind.
