Hi guys,

was considering making a few hunting arrows for my Mohawk longbow 50@27, it draw it at 28.

Will use Surewood shaft at 30 with 200 grains broadhead (Grizly Kodiak !!!).

Do you think 70-75 will be enough or should i go higher ?

Thanx for your advice and God bless.

That should be real close, but I think you might be on the border of 75-80

With the longbow and the point weight that you want to use I would also suggest the 70/75 with a back taper down to 5/16".  Steve

65-70, I can shoot a 70-75 at 30" w/185 grizzly out of a 60 @ 29 Robertson LB

Wow! I shoot 60/65 surewoods cut to 29.5  200g #54 out of my Mohawk and have for a long time. Fly perfect and killed dozens of animals with that setup   :dunno:      ;)

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I'd put my money on this one.

I have several Mohawks and for my moose hunt I made up some 67# cedars with internal footing and 190 grain Cutthroat broad heads. Arrows weighed in at about 675 and I am shooting a 53# Mohawk that I draw to 28". My arrows are cut 29" bop. So I would think you could go 65-70

Thank you for all these feedback.

Will try some 60-65 and go up from there if necessary.
