Floyd Oakes Longbow question

I have an opportunity to purchase/trade bows with a fella that has a Floyd Oakes long bow.   I'm not familiar with the maker other than I know he wrote for outdoor magazines for many years.  Does anyone on the forum have any experience with his custom bows?  She's a beaut and wouldn't want to pass up an opportunity to pick up a custom long bow.  So does anyone on the forum have any information on this custom bow maker?

He is from Louisiana. To my understanding Floyd made bows for friends and perhaps a few request but never advertised or sought out "customers". In that respect I'd venture to say he wasnt in business as a bowyer, but knowing what I know about him I'd suspect his bows are quality.
