Hey guys, here they are, am I crazy? I'm using a 64# TallTines and shooting approx 45 foot pounds at 190-195 fps with a 550 arrow setup. Trying to find a large head that is 125 grain for my new Axis 340's. I'll def be using them for turkeys and smaller game.

Looks like they will do the job to me ''but'' I personally would like a lot more length in cutting edge.
I shot 125 thunderheads for the 1st couple seasons w/ traditional bow and they worked fine. I do suggest you put a file on the chisel point to make them needle point like to improve penetration.

Killed a deer of a lifetime last year with a g5 montec carbon steel 125g out of a 50#  sage. No pass thru but got both lungs.
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6

Good to know! Looking more for this specific model...it's pretty big. I got the thinking though, blade angle looks horrendous but it's not any more than most bleeder blades really. Oh Grrat luck with muzzy phantom heads for years with the same kenetic energy. Can't see that this could be much worse. Anyone else?

My buddy swears by them with his wheel bow.  G5 is well built and scary sharp out of the package.

Take a peice of belt leather and push it through. Then do the same with a sharp trade like a treeshark or zwicky or cutthroat. That should help you decide.

Oh believe me I've done that...yes there is a trade off for sure. Penetrating potential had not been an issue with trocar type heads I've killed several deer with Muzzys and had great penetration with a traditional bow...not even close to a two blade set up but better blood trails with a multi blade head.

DesertDude

Michael, you are shooting plenty of bow to put those through any whitetail.  I live on a ranch where we take 20+ deer a year, you do your part, no worries.......

Those heads are so nasty! I shot a doe with one out of my wheelie bow a couple years back. The arrow blew through and was laying on top of the ground thanks to some of the sharpest blades I have felt right out of the package. The blood trail was 2 foot wide for 60 yards... I'm not lying. When I approached her, it looked as if I walked up on a crime scene from a murder drama. Needless to say, they always had a place in my quiver until I fully switched to trad. I don't believe my current 50lb longbow could consistently get pass throughs with them but I believe yours would be adequate. No way to know for sure until you let one fly...

Small game yes. I'm not sure I would use them on a turkey, unless you can make a head or neck shot.

Tajue17

that head would be fine,,,,,,,I killed many deer with a 45# joe don jones bamboo backed genesis shooting 1916's and muzzy 125 3-blade heads.

for 40.00 I'd get the VPA instead though.

Even with your setup, I'd be more leery of shooting a turkey than a deer! Those feathers can really impede penetration!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!
