I am extremely torn right now!  Needing to buy an insulative layer (coat) and can't decide between the Sitka Kelvin, Kuiu Kenai, or First Lite Puffy.  The sitka intrigues me because it comes in solid moss color and waterfowl, which I like.  I own soley Kuiu and First Lite gear and love them both.  However, can't decide on solid color (town coat) or camo coat.  Leaning towards the kuiu kenai in vias or gray or First Lite puffy in brown.  It should be noted I'm a bigger guy and Kuiu stuff runs small so the super down xxl is tight on my shoulders but Kenai is offered in xxxl:) Otherwise would buy the super down in brown asap!!  Any suggestions and/or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a fan of the Kuiu Super Down hooded jacket and use it a ton but it really depends on what you'll be using it for. The outer material is a bit noisy for whitetails and I always try to wear it under something unless I'm just glassing a basin for mulies or elk. I assume the Kenai is similarly noisy but have no first-hand experience with it. Chances are almost all down coats are going to be a little noisy unless they're backed with a micro-fleece or something so you'd want to wear something over the top if you plan on having it on when you're up close and personal with an animal. Good luck and share your thoughts when you do make a final decision.

I like my Sitka, my son likes Kuiu, I can't fit into Kuiu no matter the size. Neither brand is Whitetail quiet so you have to learn to move differently IMO. If Kuiu fits; both are equal quality and durability, again IMO. No experience with the third brand.
Personally I would opt for warmth from in an inner layer where you will have so many more choices but then again I hunt on the ground and have never hunted below 20 degrees.

PEARL DRUMS

My buddy has the puffy, its too loud IMO. For out west spot and stalk I think it would be okay. For tree stand whitetail hunting at 5 yards, it might be tricky. Fantastic jacket all the same. Very packable and very light.
