I had to run to town a little while ago, and saw this target setting out on somebodys lawn with a small pile of other stuff.

There was a lady outside moving things from the garage to the pile, so I stopped and asked if she was getting rid of it. She said it belonged to her ex husband, and she was getting rid of the "junk" he'd left in the garage, and I'd be doing her a big favor if I'd just take it.    :bigsmyl:

I guess I need to ride around your town......lol!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Good find. Reminds me of the story of the woman that got rid of her ex husband's Corvette cheap after he sent her a letter asking her to sell it and send him the money.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Don't worry, I asked lol. I did get a nice Estwing hatchet too, though.

I don't think the target has been shot more than 2 dozen times, including the couple arrows I shot into it, before it started to rain. Thanks everybody.

That's a great deal, wish I could come up on some stuff like that!

Those are pretty tough targets. I had one just like it a few years ago. It stood up to thousands of arrows being fired into with wheel bows. Five of us guys use to meet up on the weekends and shoot til our arms were about to fall off...trying to nock each other's arrows, shooting from 75 yards, all manners of playing around. I brought that target to shoot at every outing. I went to stick bows and I don't know where the rest of that bunch is now. Ah, the good ol days.

Nice find!

Ex wives, a friend moved out after his divorce but left his guns and fishing gear to pick up later. His wife had a yard sale before he got back to pick up his stuff. She told him she sold his browning shotguns for $15 each at the yard sale.

A few years later she had a head on collision with a fast moving concrete truck that took her out, proving there is justice in the world after all.

As long as we're talking divorce, I'll tell you a story.

I won't go into details, but things got bad between my ex wife and myself. It got to the point that I told her if she was that miserable, to just take her things and go.

I came home from work a few days later, and found that she'd had her friends help her take EVERYTHING in the house, except my hunting stuff, a broken lawn chair, a plastic milk crate, and a little black and white portable tv.

At first, I couldn't believe it. After giving it a few minutes to sink in, and realizing how peaceful it was in the house, I set up my lawn chair, and put the tv on the milk crate. I drove back to town bought a twelve pack of my favorite refreshment, and went back home and watched tv in peace.   :bigsmyl:

Nice find Bob,

That's a good story too. Probably the best divorce (and cheapest) ever! Congrats on getting a free target and outta your marriage easy.
Relax,
