I recived my bear from Big Jims bow-company  in the mail today ..its the new bear super kodiak black phenolic its so smooth to draw no stack what so ever at my 29+ draw ,, its 50 pounds at 28" 60 inch long  i only shoot it in garage so far  and no silencers only the custom flemish string big jim furnishes the bows with ,wich is a very nice well made string ,the bear is so quiet and yet it really spits the arrows out my chronograph is broken so unfortunately  i can not test the speed .
i shoot 2117 2216 and 2219 so far it seems to prefer the 2216 with 175 grain tips i am very impressed with the  performance and looks of this bow .. and im glad big Jim talked me into getting the 60 inch instead of 64 cause i hade been reading about some complaining that it stacked there is zero stack in this bow at my 29+ inch draw i think many times its the muscles that start to stack cause people are over bowed and they think the  bow stacks ,, any way i can really recomend the bow and Big Jims bowcompany  fast delivery he also inspects the bows and he makes a custom string for the bear wich is so much better than the factory one that he sends with them
cheers Cody

i will  try and  post some  pictures ,,i said 2216 but that was a typo error  wrong its actually the 2219 that bare shafts the best ..
my widow wich is same poundage needs a 2216 cut 30.5 with 175 g point the bear i shoot 2219 cut 30.5
with 175 g grain point . i love the grip and the bow is so stable forgiving to shoot very little hand shock and vibration and does not kick back like some trad recurves do its very forgiving to shoot  i think the phenolic absorbs vibrations very well to . also i checked the tiller and it only ever so  slight heavy bottom limb maybe 1/8 or less  compared to the normal 1/4
that most have tiller  at maybe  that  why it shoots great 3 under for me its so quiet im really happy
ps sorry for bad spelling i live in australia but originaly from sweden

I had a phenolic/rosewood Super K years ago.  I have been looking at them again, it seems the pics of the new ones show a deeper grip than mine had.  Are they deeper and if so, are they all like that?
The Super K is probably the most versatile hunting recurve ever designed.

Congrats! We need pictures! Those bows are beautiful!
I'd rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6
