I picked up a used Roy Hall Apache a while back but haven't really spent any time with it. Want to hunt with it this coming season so have been trying to find a good arrow to shoot. Having a hell of a time. It's 60" and 49# @28. I'm drawing about 28.5 and three under. I have the brace height currently at 8". Have moved the nock point up and down and still having trouble. Any of you guys out there shoot this bow, similar specs and draw, bow setup, etc? If so, what arrow combo do you find shoots best and what bow setup you've found best. Or is this bow just not made for shooting three under? I have other longbows and recurves and have had no problem tuning them shooting three under. I'm sure I've left out some pertinent info so any help you might be able to render would be greatly appreciated. Dave

I have a 64" Apache. Not shooting 3 under though. Mine is 44# and I draw about 30.5. I shoot full length Vaporwoods with 3 5" shields. Total weight about 450 grains.  Mine shoots well with this and a 7-5/8 brace. You may try and give Roy a call.

I have had a lot of experience with Roy's bows... Great bows and shoot really well..

I'd say start with Carbon .500 spine..  I like Carbon Expresss Heritage 150's   or Easton Axis .500   or Gold tip 3355...

I did have a hard time with the 3355 being to weak for some reason..   But the Carbon Express heritage 150's cut to 30" and 150 gr. tip did really well...

Good luck...
Blessings,
Steve

Thanks for the input gentlemen. Kept bumping the brace height up so decided to see what happened if I lowered it. Dropped to a little over seven. Bingo! Shooting 2016s beautifully. Went out after rain let up this afternoon and tried a Beman ICS Bowhunter 500, 100 gr insert and a 125 gr field point. Bingo again. Also flew perfectly with a 100 gr Magnus Stinger Buzzcut 100. Try the same setup with a 125 Bcut tomorrow. Have a feeling I'll get similar results. Will try the CE 150s also. It is one fast bow.
