Seeing through bug netting

I have never hunted in a bug suit before, but I have one that I got on clearance awhile back.  I plan on usingnit for an upcoming bear hunt, and tried it on today.  I am afraid I won't be able to see well in the dark woods or at dusk, and the good is attached to the jacket, so no easy removal.  I was wondering how others deal with this without removing the headgear or jacket completely?  Oh, I will be using a thermocell, but have heard that it may not be sufficient depending on the wind.

Hello pat so glad to hear you have a bugsuit it's definately something that's needed...as far as the head net maybe look for another pull over kind besides the one that comes with jacket so you can see through it I was in Manitoba last year and if I didn't wear my headnet I better have my thermacell warmed up because the Mosquitos were so bad I wouldn't have been able to do it while on stand just make sure you have plenty of mats and fuel for the thermacell and I wish you luck....Bring home a big one!!

I have always worn mine until I get ready to draw.... just wait until he's really into the bait and then real easy like, move your hand up and peel it back.

You have bug screens on your house windows, don't you...??? Not much differance!

I've got the bug tamer suit also. It's a camo pattern and it's hard to see out of. This will be my fifth year in a row hunting SK for bears. The thermacell has been enough as the black flies haven't been bad where I hunt. I use the bug tamer around camp and when checking baits. I do have several headnets I got from Cabela's for about $10 a piece. They do a better job than the jacket as they have an elastic band that runs through the bottom you put your arms through and creates a perfect seal to keep bugs out. Go with the black as it's the easiest to see through.
   If the black flies are real bad where a boonie style hat with a head net over it. This creates enough space the black flies can't get to any skin. The headnet still compresses easily when your at full draw.

Thanks for the input.  Truly not like looking through a window screen at all.  Much darker.  Can't remove to shoot because it is all one piece with the top, unless I cut the head part off, which will be a sealing problem the way it fits.  Thinking of bleaching the eyepiece area on a cheap net I have to see if it helps, and if it does do that to this suit. Also thinking of during small eyeholes the putting a small pair of swimming goggles over which will seal the net to my head.  Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Turn your headnet screen inside out and put the upper part(the part you look through)on a flat surface, then take a large black marker and color the upper part you look through solid. You'll be amazed how clear your vision will be when you put it back on. Only down side is you will have some of the black on your face after hunting. Been doing this for 30 plus years.

Use flat black spray paint on the mesh, just don't wear it as you are painting it.  

Don't put it on thick, just "mist" the netting.

It is a solid green now. Is that how your's was before coloring it?

Did that this morning, and it makes quite a bit of difference. Gonna try yo get out in the woods looking for hogs between now and when I leave to see how it does in low light.  Nice tip, one way or another.
