ground blind hunters ?

I need a good seat or comfortable stool . One that gets me off the ground enough and is quiet.it can be a little big. I dont hunt to far from camp or the house. What do you guys use?? anyone use one of those swivel buckets ? I thought about taking the lazyboy out there but I might fall asleep..

I just ordered a Double Bull mag seat, I had been using a three legged stool with a back rest. I like a back rest because i can sit still longer and have less urge to get up or move.

Here's what I did;  I took one of those folding stools with the pouch underneath it and the single strap for shoulder carry.  Took the strap off, put some treestand backpack straps on it and then atttached a thin nylon covered foam pad by a short strap so it can flip back out of the way.
  The whole setup cost very little,  it's light,easy to carry and out of the way until needed.

I am asking the same question.
Those folding stools with the pouch under it are not comfortable to me at all.  But mine is about worn out and it'll get replaced with something else.
Those swivel seats on the bucket aren't too bad, but no backrest and VERY clumbsy to carry around.

The best ground blind chair is the plastic outdoor chair you can get at WalMart in green or brown.  They are really quiet and very comfortable.  I have a tender back so I need something with a good backrest. If you don't have to carry it very far its perfect.  I leave mine in the woods all year.

I have been known to leave a five gallon pail in my blinds and carry an olive drab boat seat cushion from stand to stand. The buckets are good for carrying blind building materials to a stand site too.

I sat on one of those three legged tri-corner stools for 5 hours yesterday.  Gawd, I don't think my nether regions have yet recovered.

Dan that's why I attach the dense foam pad to it.  I could'nt sit very long on it without the pad.  I also tried the 3 legged stools in the past and found they had a tendency to sink into the ground.

Cheap seat from Wally world, with a backrest.  Not to heavy if you only have to go a few hundred yards with blind/seat on your back.

I really haven't found the stool that works great after looking for a couple of years.  I get a directors chair without arms from Wally World and use them.  Usually buy a new one each year.  Heck I gave four of them to Curtis last time down to his place.  They are pretty good but still are not ideal.  The back rest is important to me.   I can't sit for more then an hour without one.

We were looking at Cabelas tall three leg stools with backrest the other day.  Nice but not comfortable to sit for very long.

I use a swivel seat on a bucket (which is great for carrying all the field dressing stuff). I use a 7 gallon bucket though, so I'm not so low to the ground.

I thought me and my nephew could use them in my blind, the problem is one broke already. The plastic piece in front that holds the seat to the legs cracked and broke off. It is comfortable but now I don't trust them.

I 2nd the Wally-world idea for the director's chair without armrests...and I also have a little 3-legged thing that lashes right to my pack if I'm going for only one or two hours...

The director's chair way grey...but a cheap can of spray paint fixed that...

I like the "director chair" for comfort but it seems like I'm just sticking out too much.This stool is comfortable and sits low.

This works for me. Light weight, easy to carry and quiet. I can put it as close to any tree if I want a back rest.

I use a double bull chair, the reason being, it doesn't cut off circulation, I can transfer to one knee or both for a shot.  It is lightweight 2 1/2 Lb.  They are $29, and if you break them, double bull will give you another one no charge.

I use a double bull blind, and have had no trouble to as long as is brushed in., ground blinds are just like traditional hunting, if you have an attitude that they don't work, they're not going to work, but if you take the effort to make your blind, rather its homemade, or purchased, it will work, some purchased ones better than others, the double bull, will work a lot better than the nylon ones.  I hunt on the double bull all the time.  No problems as long as they do the work.  The best thing is to break up your lines, and wear black, including a face mask.  And especially on hand its holding the bow, closest to the deer.  My double bull ground blind weighs in at 12 lbs., I have the light rides in it, it keeps the warmer than those other cheaper lines.  That means I can hunt longer, wait out the deer longer, get my point.

I to was one of those guys that said they'd never owned a $400 hunting tent, is proved me wrong, but it's been very enjoyable.

I mostly just use a foldable Dean Torges Tree Seat.
