I'm shooting a 48lb long bow what would be considered to light of a arrow to hunt with deer, turkey ect.  I'm shooting goldvtip 35/55 with a 50grain insert and 125 heads length is 30 inches.. They seem a little weak. If I drop to a 100gr head they seem to fly straighter. Just a little help please. Thanks you all as always.

If it was me, I would stay at 450gr, or higher, but I'm a 10gpp guy. I think the lighter arrow would be of more concern on the turkeys than on the deer. Turkeys are dang tough.

25gr decrease in weight won't be noticeable in penetration as far as arrow mass goes but if it makes the arrow fly better the difference in penetration could be significant due the arrow flying truer!!!!! And turkeys are extremely tough as Bisch mentioned!

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

I think your set up is just fine, at least for deer. I don't generally hunt turkeys, so I can't comment there. I would shoot the lighter head if it flies better, just as old_goat discusses.

Also, as mentioned above, I would definitely go with the better tuned arrow. Perfect tuning outweighs almost everything else (to a point)!

Flying straight is the goal as Bisch says. Use what gets you there.

You didn't post your draw length. Can you cut your arrow off some to make the 125's work?

Almost the same as me. 3555 GT trads 30" with Stock insert(12gr) with 175gr up front. 3x4" fletch. 50#@28" HH Wesley longbow.
Don't recall the total weight but that set up works well for me.
But I agree , shoot what's tunes and fly's better.
I try to stay in the 8-10 gpp range

I would also ask what your draw length is. 1/4" off the length of a 3555 stiffens it up a lot - more than 25gr of head weight would. If you can afford to take 1/4" off that 30" shaft, you could stay with the heavier head. If that makes it too short, than I wouldn't hesitate to go with the lighter head.
