Drilling stress-cracks?

Ok,
I have a bow with some vertical stress cracks on the back. I understand you can treat them with thin CA glue. Is it necessary to drill a little hole at the end of the cracks to prevent them for running further? I get a little nervous by the idea drilling in my limbs...

Hey neighbor, while stop drilling cracks works well on aircraft and such, any drilling on a lam bow or self bow is a big risk.
I have used CA glue on laminated and self bows with great results as long as crack is not running off the end.
How I've done it is brace the bow and apply CA glue in cracks, flex gently, rubbing it in with gloved finger or piece of clean leather then unstrung and let cure. Mystic longbow's told me the Indians used a lot of CA GLUE. LOL, GOOD LUCK. DC

Are you talking about glass bows or wood bows. Longitudinal cracks in the back of a selfbow are generally drying checks. As long as they don't run off the bow they are no threat to the bow. Filling with superglue is what most folks do but that isn't entirely necessary.
Actual stress cracks in any bow would be worrying. Why did it get stress cracks to begin with.
