Hey everyone....I need some suggestions for some socks....over the calf merino wool (preferably).  More for cushion than for warmth.  In fact,  the cooler they keep my feet the better....these will be for my new snake boots that are 17" high....Ill be using these the 2nd week in September when I go to Florida to hunt pigs.  Ive been looking around and there doesn't seem to be much for wearing in the warmer or hot weather.

The  Costco wool socks have treated me well, they were a higher percentage of wool than the wigwams... And have held up well. Cheap, durable... And if you don't like them Costco takes back anything (in any condition).

I think I have has the same two dozen for a string of hunting, hiking and at least one year long deployment. Wow, they really do hold up.... I had to rethink the math on that and that was over 3years of abuse.

I would vote for smartwool, have worn for about 15 years, I have very warm feet, but these merino sock almost seem to cool feet. I use three diff. grades. walk, hiker, expedition.

Check out "Point 6" socks.  They are a spin off from some Smartwool employees.  Was recommended them by a Mountaineering store in Colorado two years ago and they are great.  I was a Smartwool guy but these are my new go to.
