I spent 25 bucks on them. I assume that they are cow.

My question is... keep them as they are? cut them up for arm guard buttons, inlays, knock overlays, etc?

Put them on the front of the Cadillac?

OR

call up a custom bower and have him incorporate some of the horn into the handle of a fancy new 3 piece take down R/D long bow?? (this was actually my girlfriend's idea, I think she wants a new bow. So maybe two bows will be ordered...)

Let me know what you think.

Make a Viking helmet, which would be great Camo while hunting.

Make one into a powder horn and see how many funny looks you get when you're out with the bow

I've been wanting one to make a moose horn. Most U.S. suppliers don't ship to Canada. Maybe I should hit the flea markets and thrift shops.
Good find!

Woodcarver, I'm making an engraved moose horn for the PBS banquet next year.  Well, actually it'll be what we call a hunting horn.  I've been looking for documentation for early moose calls made of cowhorn, but can't find any.

Fill them with good mead around a campfire and enjoy!

Sean, my buddy has a moose call he made from a water buffalo horn. It makes the sweetest sound a hormone ravaged bull moose has ever heard. That's where I got the idea to make one of my own. I don't recall seeing much written about the subject either.
Do you have any pictures of the one you're making?
Dave.

Make a wooden plug for the big end, with about a 3/4" hole in the center, with a plug in that. Then cut the other end off a bit, and make a plug for that (all plugs should be removable), and a strap for carrying, and you have a nice black powder horn.

again, being a hornsmith, I know of a lot of things that can be made from them. Buttons, knife scales, cane arrow nocks, thumb rings for shooting, bow tips, drinking vessels, spoons....I could go on. Actually you could get all those things out of both horns. PM me if you're interested, and I can talk you through making much of them yourself.
