aim small...release

Ok so I shoot gold tip trads 35/55 29.5 inches with 125 great heads and50gr inserts they fly great.  Now the problem I'm down to 2 arrows and have a shoot Friday and can't get any Fletcher before then. The archery shop I go to has gold tip hunters already to go but they are only 7.3gpi compared to 8.6 trads. What do I do you get close I'm just going to get a few until my trads are done next week but need some by Friday.

You could use weed whacker string. Measure out 38.35 grains and stuff it in. Or for that light maybe some 550 cord gut or something. But come on, 2 arrows means you still have one to lose! Haha

Instead of using 50 grain brass you could get some 100 grain inserts and cut a 1/4" off them to get them exactly the same. you are only talking 30 grains difference.... or you could go up to 150 grains on your GT Trads and use 125 on your GT hunters and you'd be within 5 grains....

It's highly unlikely that 30 grains is going to make a huge difference anyway unless your are borderline on your spine.

You are only talking 38 grains difference in overall arrow weight. You won't be able to see the difference.I'd get the Hunters and shoot them as is.You are already tuned but if you change any aspect, especially adding internal weight, you will have to monkey around with tune, just before a shoot.

You wouldn't think so but adding a full length, internal weight WILL stiffen the arrow's dynamic spine.

Might I make a suggestion: "don't miss!!" and your two arrows will be one too many.

reddogge

I think I'd do the two arrow challenge with myself just to sharpen my aim and prove I could do it. If I lost or broke both walking the whole course with your buddies without shooting would whip me into shape. Think confidently.

I agree with Jim.  You won't notice the difference.

Cyclic-Rivers

Buy 1/2 dozen Hunters. Then wait for Big Jim to get Blems in stock.

When he does, jump fast and get 3 dozen. Its always nice to have extras around.  Its a popular spine so if you ever needed to trade for a different spine, you should be able to quick and easy.
