Glove Fit

How do you all like your gloves to fit?  I ordered both a medium and large Bear Paw goat skin glove and the medium is super tight.   The large seems just a touch big maybe.   Have to force my fingers in the medium.  Unsure which one to keep.  The large feels good but just curious that if it is just a touch big will it effect my shooting?

I like it just a touch tight so after a bit it conforms to my fingers. To me if it is loose it slides and rubs my fingers raw after a bit of shooting and the sliping messes up my shots.  Is try some other gloves if it wasn't just like I want.

I like them snug so that it stretches to conform with my fingers. I use an American Leathers Big Shot Crossover. John will fix you up. I sent him a tracing of my had and he got me fitted to a glove.

If not too tight I would keep the medium.   They seem to stretch some as they break in, especially if you are shooting in hot weather and sweating.  

A little off topic, but the whole "fit" thing is why I prefer tabs.  I have bought two gloves at the same time, the same brand, the same size and they fit differently.   Just depends on the piece of leather  used and the person sewing it.

Soak the tight one in warm water and pull it on to your hand. This should stretch it out a bit to help make it fit. It will probably be a bit stiff when it dries but a little Montana Pitch Blend or similar leather dressing should make it soft again.

I won't buy if I can't try it on first.  I buy mine that are tight to the point I can barely get my fingers in.  I then soak it in Montana Pitch Blend and shoot it in.  When it breaks in, the fit is perfect.

If it fits when new, it will be too loose (for me) when it breaks in.

I like my glove snug also, don't like having to push it on before a quick shot.  And if you have a glove that gets sloppy  on you tighten it back by putting a few stitches on the top seam above the knucke.  Using a needle and heavy duty thread.  A old bow string works great for the thread.

I have some luck by wetting the glove and hanging it in the sun. It takes a couple of times but lasts.
