Hello Gang,

I was last weekend stump shooting in the woods and it was a blast.
What a great day!!

Stump shooting is much more popular in USA then in Germany!  Thought I must share my experience with the new stumping point.
We have used the Roving Crown from TopHat. I have to say by far the best stumping point I have ever try.
Extremely durable
Modular construction
Arrow gentle

We have shoot all the daylong ...... in forest floor, high grasses, bushes......no loss, we found all arrows directly and all of them were undamaged!!
I have shot my 52#@30" TimberGhost Longbow and my buddy Charly has shot his 65#@30" ASC CX Longbow.

Check the review about the Roving Crown from Joe
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=favD3-a-H3c

We will do some more stump shooting the next weekend. I will do some pictures and will post them here.

Tak care

That's a pretty cool looking point. Thanks for sharing, I may need to look into one!

Wonder if they will make one with a taper for wood arrows.  Thanks for sharing.

Looking good!  Wonder when someone will be selling them in the US?  Looks like Lancaster Archery and 3 Rivers will carry them at some point.

Your Chicken from McDonald's, Tyson Foods, or Perdue Farms spent most of it's life stuffed in a cage with three or four others, occupying a space about the size of a book page...None for me, thanks...

Ended up getting one of the original prototypes from Blacky a few years ago. With an adapter weighs in at 275 grains. Well built head.
Thanks,
Tim

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

I saw this a couple of weeks ago looks like the ultimate stumpin head  has some kind of rubber shock absorber behind the tip to absorb hard impacts  the arms are just weed whip string so easy to replace and won't get bent .
The downside I heard they're going to be about $15 a pop!

Lookin forward to the pics Hub!

...and where are the pictures? You can't just tell us about a day out stumping without supplying photos. I think it's against the law or something...   :biglaugh:

I think I will stick to judos too. Mainly because of the fact that they DON'T bounce back after a stump-hit. But again, with my 37# bow they won't stick too hard.

I haven't shot the Roving Crown by Tophat yet, but my FAVORITE stumping point is the RFA Talon - both glue-on or screw-in styles are available.

They have been an incredible point for me and my kids!

Enjoy the journey and keep the wind in your face!

Shoot straight, Shinken

I really like the idea of the flexy neon green arms.  I'm up in Eastern Wa and Eastern Oregon and it is very rocky here.  Those flexible arms probably have a longer life span than the metal judo arms.  I currently use saunders bludgeon blunts because they are durable.  Would love to try out these Roving Crowns on jack rabbits !
