A friend who shot his Howatt Ventura with great success as a collegiate archer managed to close the car door on one of the tips several years ago but hung on to the bow. I am attaching a few photos and seek your thoughts on 1) is it salvageable? 2) if so, is it a reasonable project for a limited DIY'er to take on? and 3) if the answer to 2) is No, who does tip repairs? Thanks in advance

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

I think it is definitely worth a try. It looks like it doesn't have tip overlays in the first place. I would rework both tips by adding a base layer of fiberglass over the tips, long enough to cover the cracks on the damaged end (make them match). then some phenolic, or more glass or wood to finish them off. On the belly side where the string groove is damaged, it looks like it is an extra piece of wood glued on top of the green glass.  I would carefully sand it off on both tips, and glue up replacements. I would probably go with more glass and cut in shallower grooves.

Definitely fixable. Tips can be easily repaired but not limb delaminations. He is lucky.
