I am about to build a bow rack to hang 5 or so recurves / longbows on. I am looking for neat ideas. I would like to see what you all have come up with because I know there is quite a bit of creativity on here! Thanks!

The one thing I would suggest is if your making rack that the bows hang horizontal is space the pegs farther apart. So you can leave one strung without it rest on another peg below itor laying on another bow. I made a rack and the only one I can have one strung is the bottom.  The bottom is the one I like hang my quivers. When hang strung I dont like it to touch the wall or anything else.

I'll be watching this one. I have been thinking about building one.

I made one a few weeks ago myself. I went with a vertical style for less space. Used a 1" by 8" pine board and 3/8" dowel rods. I evenly spaced the top pegs then split their distance with shorter pegs. Stained it and put two coats of poly on it. Looks real nice and holds lots of stuff. The long pegs will hold atleast two bows and shorter pegs hold one bow or gear. Quiver, gloves, armguards etc. You can make it as wide or narrow or short and long as you need.

I made one for 7 bows, figuring that is nearly twice as many as I would ever own. So much for prior planning.

Things I'll change when I make my new one:

Make it for 8 bows in case I ever by another

The peg spacing actually works fairly well since the pegs are long enough to let a strung bow hang down in front of athe bow behind it.

I'll make the cabinet at the bottom a bit deeper and the vertical sides a bit wider. This will let me hang my uninstalled limbs for my RER LXR on the sides of the vertical pieces.

I was criticized for building a "gun rack" because it supported the bows too far outside of the riser. With a modern glass bow I can't imagine that making any difference, but who knows - I might someday buy/build a self bow, so the new one will support the bows closer to the grip.

Here's one my girlfriend made for me that will go in my hunting shack when it's done. Sorry for the bad pics, it's in my basement for now.
