Bowhunting season is winding down (or gearing up) for the remaining days of the season.  Nice time to be out with a bow now that the gun seasons have mostly ended. This is it.  Long wait till next year.  Every time I go out now I find a great appreciation to be able to hunt with traditional archery equipment.

This weekend ends the first set of seasons here too.  I always find myself looking back over the season and remembering those "hot" days with bugs and how the season changed around me as I sat in stands.  In the end, I'm always amazed that anybody can kill a deer with stick & string considering everything yet I have one in the freezer and I'm thankful that God blessed me with that beautiful animal.  Good luck out there but it sounds like you have already experienced the real reason we hunt.

Late season rocks for a lot of good reasons! Not ever over until the fat lady sings, keep at it!

I won't be done until end of January since I hunt two states. Only took this week off so the orange army can get the deer all spooked. The rest will be tougher, but lots of fun.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

That's one of the only good things about living in the Soviet state of n.j., our winter bow hunting season doesn't start until January.

About the second week of Sept. starts fall bow, beginning of Nov. ,is then the start of extended bow season. The season basically runs from Sept to the middle of Feb. but they do charge us for all of it.

I agree with slickhead Ohio late season is tough but I enjoy still being able to hunt.if nothing else its a fun time to see deer in large groups or have a shot at a coyote or two I also like to see the deer that survived gun season
