Great story thanks for sharing. I have a lot of great memories of the Catskills. I used to pass through Walton on Rt 206 quite a bit on my way to Masonville. Did a lot of turkey and small game hunting with my brothers and my dad. Thanks for jarring my memory. Tony Z.

Great story! Never had hunting buddies like that. Mostly hunted solo even when I was learning. But your story took me home. Grew up in Broome county.

with the holidays upon us, such stories warm the heart and soul.

The painful lesson is that this realm is not our home and we need to keep making NEW memories on this side of the green grass.

What a joy it must've been to reconnect after those years and for your son to have become so connected to his relatives thru the love of hunting!

Excellent! Thanks!
The words "Child" and "terminal illness" should never share the same sentence! Those who care-do, others question!
