Suggestions on taking a youth on a hunt?

I'm looking for suggestions on where I can take my 14 year old boy for a late winter early spring hunt.  He's very active in sports and this year just seemed like he never got time to get out hunting.
So I thought maybe try to do a 3 or 4 day weekend  hog or javie hunt but I'e never hunted those and not sure where to go. i'd consider a spring bear hunt but price will be  factor also so thats why I'm leaning towards a hog/javie hunt. Do to the time restraint and he's a youth I think a hunt over bait might be best. Travel distance would also be a factor as we'd be driving from southern wisconsin.
Of course if I could also hunt that would be nice but the main thing would be to give my son a chance to hunt.

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Turkeys from a tent blind in the spring is a good local hunt. I've taken my daughters out with me and we've had some great memories. Take him scouting with you and explain why your choosing an area to set up, makes it all part of the experience.

If you take him south, like as in Texas, bring bunny arrows, a lot of them.  Hunting pigs gets fun but in the evening when the bunnies come out, they are everywhere.  Perfect for the kids.

Great suggestions above. Lots of hog hunting in northern Tennessee, around Crossville and Monterey, and many outfitters deal frequently with bow hunters. That might save some driving time. If I was a 14 yo boy these days, I'd be dying to try bowfishing for Asian carp in the Illinois River. Hardly exotic, but looks like tons of action.

I think, to go along with my above comment.  At 14, MOST young men and ladies would really like to get into some action, and world record tyranosaurs are not required.  

Rather than spend big bucks on a quality (big game, get to MAYBE see one in a week of hard hunting) hunt, you might consider quantity over quality.  

Of course, each child is different and only you know what his likes are.

Ed  What part of the state is home ?  Did you see the Wisconsin State thread regarding bunny hunts this winter ?   Now,  we haven't kicked butt yet, but we get into them each time and we have a great time.

Spring turkey hunt at home will happen as it has the last few years for him. Just trying to find something to replace the missed early season deer hunt.

A friend of mine did a combination alligator and feral hog hunt in Florida somewhere Lake Okeechobee with his wife.  They each got a gator and a hog...might be a good thing to do during your sons winter school vacation, plus, you'll get to soak-in the southern sunshine which is a great way to rejuvenate your bones in the midst of a long, cold winter.

Too late for this year, but there are late hunts in CO that you can draw for next year.  Dec and even Jan.  This will be the third year for me doing that so that I can hunt with my grandson who is in college and playing football.  They are firearms hunts but you can hunt with bows.

Texas is another good option. I am going on a trad only hog/javi hunt there the end of February that is being run by a friend of mine.  But that one is 5 days and the dates are mid week, so may not work with your soon missing too much school?  PM me if you need info.
