I have volunteered to help a fellow union member out by getting him a kodiak magnum.  He hunted with one for years and it failed.  Now he uses a crossgun and said he will go back if I can find him a heavy one.  He killed many deer with his old one.  He thinks it was 70# @ 28".  My question is how heavy did they make these bows?  I want to know how heavy they can be before I start my search.   I doubted the 70# weight.  Any info will help.

Thank you,
Gary

FIRST..... I'd try and find as close to a 70# bow as you can.

Then, I'd see if he can pull it!!!

(before you waste your time AND money)
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!

There is a fine line between Hunting, & Sitting there looking Stupid...

No doubt he can pull it.  He is the real deal.  I will not get him another 70 though.  He does not need that much.  I am just curious if that was even a possibility and what their Max weight is.

I'm sure Bear made them in heavy weights. I remember an artical in Traditional Bowhunter Magazine several years back that had Heavy K-Mags. I think they had pictures of 70#,75# and I think even an 85#. You could search over on the Trad History & Collectors forum... Lots of knowledgable folks there!!!

Heaviest I've seen is 65# on fleabay. I own a 58#.

Seen an 80# on the big auction last week. Thought it was odd, as most I've seen are 40s-50s.
