It is frustrating to see technology, especially the crossbow, invading what was initially designed as a time set aside for primitive hunting. As was mentioned it is ALWAYS about the money. At least you do not have a game department that allows you to kill animals out of a helicopter with automatic weapons---that is unless you happen to live in Texas!

I don't need a special season.  I hunt with my bow during archery, Muzzy and gun season with no problems and kill plenty of deer.  Killed a very nice  busk last Friday the second day of our Muzzy season.  Nice thing about that is that I still have my archery tag.

You guys who live in states that have large deer populations, and receive many tags because of this, may not need separate seasons or even care about crossbows and their effects on the hunt or success rates. But here in Oregon we have declining deer herds and receive one tag for deer. You can draw an additional deer tag for a few special hunts. So when we talk about crossbows, aka crossguns, it would make a difference to allow them here. Archery season should be just that, for archers.
