I have an older recurve with some dings on the edge of one limb.   They appear to go through the glass and down to the wood.  They are located near the curve of the limb.

What would you all recommend to seal these couple of spots?

Sorry that I am not a picture person, as I know that might help.  Still, they are fairly minor, but, I am concerned enough to ask.   I do t want any moisture to get into the lams.

Thanks in advance, Skychief.

I'll suggest several coats of super glue, CA glue.
Use a tooth pick or something to dab it on so it doesn't run.

Not afraid of a gentle use of a file to rid the glass of a crack that could continue.  I watched Ken Beck of Black Widow clean up my bow in that manner.  Then covered the areas with the super-CA glue.  I have fixed a number of friend's bows-even minor compound limb damage- in this manner.  Works great.

Thanks to all for the help.

What is "CA" glue???

Homebru

CA = cyanoacrylate = Crazy Glue = Super Glue = Zap Glue = lots of other names.

I recently sent a Super Kodiak to John Rafferty at the Bow Hospital with a ding that looks for all the world like someone whacked the edge of the bow on the edge of a countertop with as much force as he could muster. When the surgery results are known, I'll post them here. The patient may not survive but at least we will have given it a good effort.

Should the super glue be applied with the bow strung or unstrung?
