HHA string follow models

Hey gang...has anyone purchased any of the string follow bows recently ? I know that they don't have the depth of "follow" that others like NM and Two Tracks has. I was wondering how they perform ? Give me your opinion.... Quiet,fast,forgiving, etc.   Thanks

I have a Wesley SF that is not necessarily fast, but it is quiet and forgiving; no hand shock at all. It gets the job done just fine...

I have 2 66in string follow Hill Tembos (actually just sold one of them) and both have less string follow than a NM Shelton. One had about the same string follow as my Echo and the other a little more so they were not consistent, although the one with about a 1/4in more string follow had all lams on the back of the riser and the one with less had one lam on the belly.

Both are exceptional shooters, best Hills I have shot imho. The string follow bows in general are soft at the shot and very quiet. You may get 2-3 fps more from a backset limb profile bow, not a real practical difference. I am going to order a 68in Big 5 with the string follow limb profile.

As far as comparison the craftsmanship on the Echo and especially the Shelton is better but they all shoot great. The walnut limbs on the Echo have a little more thump than the bamboo limbs on the others.

The model DaveT1963 is referring to (I believe) is the Misty Dawn.  It is a string follow design that James has recently reworked to have less string follow.  I just received mine and have a post on it in Pow-wow called Humbled by JD.Berry ... Yew Betcha!!!!  JD also makes a forward handle model with string follow called the North Starr.

I know the OP was specifically looking for Hill archery info.  However, regarding the Misty Dawn, it is very smooth all the way through the draw, gentle on release and not at all "mushy" at the beginning of the draw.  It is remarkably quiet and moves an arrow along very well.  My bow is 68 inches and 55 pounds at 29 inches of draw.  It shoots pretty fast (my chrony is broke - no data sorry).  The craftsmanship is flawless.
