what are some of the best trail camera brands?

I'm looking for a nice, dependable camera. One that doesn't eat batteries and has above average length of use between battery changes. Any suggestions?

i got a bushnell from wally world before season started last year.  99dollars, its a mini model. VERY pleased with its work last year. runs off 4 double A's and lasted a long time.  I did a lot of reviwewing before I bought it and that's the one I landed one.  I put it out two weeks ago and having checked on it since. but if if works as wll this year as last i'll be very pleased. I also hav ea Moultrie and there customer service is great and camera's are "ok". One thig on the bushnell - its "recommends" a certain type of SD card - DON'T try a different kind - I found out in mine that the ones other than what they recommend will NOT work.  best of luck

I recently purchased a Browning Strike Force camera. $129 shipped including an 8GB SD card. I've been running Cuddeback and Scoutguard cameras- I researched the newer cameras online and found great reviews for the Browning. Browning isn't the first name I would think of for cams, but it seemed like the most bang for the buck.

So far, I'm REALLY impressed. Compact, good camo pattern (easy to hide), super fast trigger, great nightime range, decent pics, and it appears to be sipping batteries.

I'm going to be buying several more in the coming weeks....

Moultries have and still do work great for me. I had one Cuddeback. Gave it away...enough said.

Dr. Grant Woods of SW Mo. is sold on Reconyx cameras. He has used them for years. They are expensive but hold up for years.

I've always believed that you get what you pay for and was always frustrated about picture quality and battery life!  Then my wife bought me a bushnell ( she had no idea what to get) in one of the mini cams, I LOVE it!!!! Compact and Takes good quality pics, day or night! runs on four AA's and lasted the whole season. I have it set to take 1 pic every 10 seconds if needed. I even brought it home last month and put it in a tree faceing my house after the neighbors place got broke into. It's small enough you would have to look directly at it to see it and takes infer red pics at night so no flash. Pulled the card after a month and had over 1000 pics and battery still showed full. I'm sure there are better cams out there but it's hard beat for the money!!  IMO

Moultrie 880 is awesome. Lithium AA batteries will last several months. I had some a cuddeback and took it back.

I can get a 1,000 picks a week per cam off my Moultries at times and during most months might get up to six months of battery life. During the cold winter months 3 or 4 using regular batteries.

We have been running cams for about seven years, I like the flash cameras best but there getting harder to find and don't ever let anybody tell you big bucks shy away from them. If they do I will be glad to send you lots of B/C buck picks to prove different.

Moultries have been great but we've had a few bad ones and they always take care of us. Tried and trying the Primos cams to and there ok picks aren't as clear and there infa red but there working. We run a lot of cams so we don't spend a ton of money on ours as long as we get good results. If I had the money I would bye a bunch of the Moultrie M80's s, awesome cam for the price clear picks good battery life and easy to run.

I run Moultrie and Covert cameras. The only problem I have ever had is when it was below 20 degrees my old Moultrie cams use to shut down. That was 6 or 7 years ago. No problems with the newer stuff. Covert has been rock solid for me. Reconyx are great cameras and pricey.

Just bought 4 Moultries online and shipped for $215. I have ran Wildgame, Primos and Moultrie and the Moultire have worked the best for me.

Reconyx are excellent, moultrie are good for the $ spent. Lithium batteries last all season taking 300-400 pics per week.

Unlike KStrapper  white flash cams or no go for me, to many times only one picture of a mature buck, maybe our sc deer are camera shy.

Moultries for me.  I find them best for the money, AA lithium batteries have great life, decent trigger speed.

Moultries, It was the first one I bought 10-12 years ago, uses 6 D batteries (YIKES) but is still very dependable and the batteries last me all year long.  I just bought another moultrie A-5 paid $80.00 for it, and am very happy with that one for the price too.
