Less than a month ago, I decided to purchase a new set of limbs for my Lynx. I emailed Dan a picture of my riser and have him complete control over the limb veneers. Dan said he thought red Zebra wood veneers with Cocobolo wedges would look great. He also added ebony accents and Cocobolo under the limb caps.  The limbs are 66" 45@28. I'm very pleased. Dan is such an awesome bowyer!

Honestly when Dan said red Zebra wood, I wasn't sure whether I would like the wood or not. I had never seen Zebra wood, but I had complete confidence in his opinion. So, I went with it. I'm sure glad I did!

Stunning Combo, we are very fortunate to have all the hard working bowyers that are sponsors on this site....

It is a lot of work, not only craftmanship, but also customer service, replying to emails, ....

Another reason to trust your bowyer.  Very nice!

Looks awesome. I gota get a Lynx longbow one day

I did the same thing. I already had a Lynx, and liked it so much I wanted some different limbs. I liked those so much I eventually ordered a riser to go with them.  Should have just ordered another whole bow to start with!

:banghead:    That will probably happen to me too! LOL! Originally, I bought this bow from TG'er TIM. The second set of limbs are highly figured, beautiful Juniper, which make the bow 60" 50@28. I will probably want to buy another riser for those limbs some day.

Never heard of "red" zebra. Did he dye the veneers?

Lynx are an awesome 3pc.  I just bought, tested, and sold one and I can honestly say its as nice a bow as my Stewart 3pc was.  I favor the Stewart, but I will strongly consider building a new Lynx someday.  They really should be more popular than they are.  Awesome riser mass and shooting characteristics.  Seems like the 2pc Whip overshadows them a little, but not sure why.  Lynx = A+

I have no idea. Maybe one of the other TGers can shed some light on red Zebra wood.

You're right, Nineworlds. Although I've never shot a Whip, they do have a strong following.

Looks nice, Dennis.  I don't know how a guy could go wrong with a 66" Toelke Lynx.  They are super bows... Although I'm more of a Widow guy at heart, I would love to have one of these in 66".
Life is a whole lot easier when you just plow around the stump.

Dan never dyes any of the woods he works with.

Nice Dennis,

I'm sure there is quite a difference in the smoothness when compared to the 60 inch setup.   Awesome wood combo!
