Do either of you use some long inserts for cx heritage ? If do , which and where to buy

I shoot CE heritage 350's and use 100 gr brass inserts. I have two types of inserts, one kind from Big Jim and the other from Three Rivers. The one from Big Jims are longer and are sort of segmented and I have found them to bend / break at the first segment which is at the end of the arrow head screw in. I like the inserts from Three Rivers better they seem to be a little stronger and less prone to damage from extreme impacts.

Both kind of insets are built for Gold tip shafts which are a touch larger diameter inside. To make these work I put a field tip in each insert and then chuck up the field tip pin a drill and use a file to turn it down until it just fits inside the CE shaft. ( a crude home made lathe, but it works! )

There is also a 50 gr aluminum insert ( to fit GT's ) available that I have not tried yet. It is about an inch and a half long.

I use 3 Rivers inserts also.  You can get 50 gr. or 100 gr.

I have a couple dozen 250's and use both 50 & 100 grain brass inserts bought from 3 Rivers.

Muzzy and Gold Tip make them ( 50 and 100 grain brass insert) Gold Tip no longer makes a 50 grain insert. Gold tip does make insert weights you can screw into the back of their inserts from the nock end with a tool, 10, 20 and 40 grain I think.

I've used the brass inserts myself too. The only problem I've had was hitting very hard pieces of wood or a rock while shooting 3D... or should i say missing a 3D target... Stump shooting gets expensive too...The insert will impact inside the carbon and mushroom it when just using hot melt glue. i've got better durability using epoxy...

These aren't good stumping arrows unless you foot them with aluminum.

Muzzy quit making the inserts and it was only gold tip. 3rivers may have someone doing it for them now too.

The Gold tip insert is 100g brass or 50g aluminium. I actually prefer these to the old Muzzy's becasue they are longer. I have never had a gold tip weighted insert fail but I don't cut them down to fit CX shafts either. That may/may not have something to do with it.

We have weight screw adapters the will fit in the back of  the CX and Gold tip standard inserts and they will also bring the pt weight up nicely.

I use 50 gr inserts from three rivers on my 150s. I too had some issues while stumping with mushrooming, but footed them with two inches off aluminum shaft. Now they are indestructible. I highly recommend footing your carbons.
