I was wondering if putting a rubber o-ring or something similar under the blunt, would prevent my CE 250 arrows from becoming damaged when shot into a hard stump?  I had a couple shelled when I hit a piece of oak, locust.  I have noticed that if the tip wasn't screwed in tight, that it would bounce back considerably more than a tight tip.

Any info would be appreciated...

Thanks,
Rodd

I use the o-rings just to keep the blunts from coming loose in the insert.  I haven't damaged a shaft, but all my carbons are footed also.  I foot the nock end also which keeps the nocks from flying out on the hard hits.

Just look for the real punky, rotten stumps. One that's been there awhile. It really saves on arrows.  If that's not an option, try out your idea.

Thanks for the replies...
This last summer, I just switched to shooting tennis balls and left the stumps and logs alone.

I think that I will wind up putting some o-rings under them just in case.

Carbon express arrows aren't the most durable unless... You but footings and nock collars on them, then they are bombproof and y can literally shoot them at rocks.
