I've got a buddy that has his dads old short hornet he's wanting to shoot but it has no string and the bow isn't marked with a AMO or string length. Any one know ?

I just picked up an old Black Hawk Short Hornet not to long ago. I  measured this bow as a 56 incher, like you said no length listed. Old string was 53 inches long. So, I put a 53 inch flemish twist string on it and it seems to be just about perfect.  Brace looks good at about 7 1/2, but I'm not sure what the recommendation is.
