Cracked risers

It makes one wonder if the limb blowing up might have caused the riser to also fail??  Sounds like a new riser may be the safest repair.

Kip, All I can say is be careful! I had a riser break in half last year at the throat of the grip. I dry fired it by accident with a broken nock a few arrows before it let go. I was lucky I just ended up with a very black and blue sore chest. This could of been a lot worse. The bowyer told me that he has only had 3 risers fail since 93 and they were all from this batch of diamondwood.

Hi Kip, Bad news about your BL risers, but I feel you were lucky to find the cracks and not have them blow up on you. I think the best fix is t get a new riser and be safe. Hope it all works out for you....Your fishing buddy from Bearquest 3   Bobby
