I just ordered a Bison Gear Outfitter pack (Predator Fall Gray Wolfskin, with shoulder straps). Very excited as I think this will be a perfect little pack for pretty much everything I ever do with Whitetail hunting.

Anybody use Bison packs and have pictures they want to share?

Ron Vought

I have the Outfitter in the camo buck suede. I also just received my First Trip Explorer in grey wool that I ordered from Angelo. Both packs are great and you will enjoy the Outfitter. The outfitter provides all the space you will need for day trips.

Top notch packs!  It's really just a matter of finding which style of their offering that fits your hunting.

For some reason I sold my Bison Gear pack. Tried a bunch of others and now I will be buying another as soon as I can. Great packs!

I have an Outfitter in wool camo, you will love it.Angelo is a top notch guy to do business with, money well spent.

Added the large "Hump Cell" to the order...very excited!

ALwoodsman

I have used one for a few seasons now.  It is the best pack that I have ever owned.  Let us know how the hump cell works for you I was thinking about one of those myself.

Mine looks just like Alwoodsmans does ( mine has green webbing) best pack I have ever put on my back. And a true lifetime warranty no matter who owns it.

I have one from back when they were Pack Idaho. Hauled alot of boned meat (pigs) in it and still going strong. I think I bought it in 1995. Love the thing

So,
Pardon my ignorance here but can someone explain what makes the bison packs so special to justify the big price tag? Say over a badlands or a tenzing.....for example.

For me, pulling the trigger came down to a couple of things:

1. The testimony of individuals I trust on the quality and longevity of these packs.

2. The fact that I can talk to the guy who makes them.

3. USA made (not sure about Badlands and Tenzing).

4. Made to order (there's a big part of the cost I'm sure- not mass produced).

5. The ability to get the fabric and pattern I want (Predator Fall Gray Wolfskin- just like my clothes).

I know it's expensive. No doubt. But if it's what you want, it lasts, and it functions well...I guess that's all that can really be said.

Just got off the phone with Angelo- I had gone back and forth after I placed the order as to whether or not I wanted the Outfitter or the Haversack. He was INCREDIBLY helpful in talking me through his different packs and what he thinks would be best. Decided to stick with the Outfitter but to cancel the order for the Hump Cell. Probably would have been overkill and he agreed. Again, couldn't recommend more highly dealing with him- very helpful.
p.s. sorry to those of you who wanted the Hump Cell review...next time I guess!

Ordered one several years ago, use it all the time hunting.  Great pack.
