skyhawk bow from hoyt

what can you tell me about that bow ?,speed , accuracy and when where they made ?
i found a used one here in france for 473 USD ans i can't find anything about it on the web .

actually i shoot a samick volcano 60# at 28 , idraw 29 .
the Skyhawk is 55# at 28 will it be ok at 29.
i don't whant to make a mystake 500 USD is a lot of money for me .. i got 5 kids   lol .

If so, my brother had one.  Very well built, tough bow that drew smooth.

I've owned a couple of the Hawks as well as the one piece Eagle.  They were made in Missouri (maybe St. Louis area) sometime in the 80's and 90's by Earl Hoyt Jr.  

Earl had sold the Hoyt name and line (I think to Matthews) and he and wife Ann started Sky Archery.  Besides the Hawk (top of the line) and Eagle, they also built some longbows that proved to be fast and smooth.  

I do not think you can go wrong with the bow, but values here tend to be more like $350-400 or so when they show up.  They tend to be pretty rare.  

I would have kept mine, but the weight was getting too much for me and besides, I believe it was 4-5 lbs. more than marked, so you might check that one out for weight.  I have kept an eye out for a couple years for a 45-50# version in all black, but they are pretty scarce around these parts.

Overall, it's an excellent bow you would probably like very much.

Great bow right there! I had a all black LH 55#, drew smooth to 30".

Earl sold Sky to Matthews and Mathews sold it to Jim Belcher.

I was flying by the seat of my pants, and Eric is right.  Earl sold the original Hoyt company to Easton and formed Sky in 1989 at Bridgeton, MO, and it was sold to Matthews in 2003...and now Belcher has it.  

Sometimes it's tough keeping up with all these changes...especially when one gets old.

Had one just like in your pics. Paid $350 for it about 10 years ago. Well made bow but I think the weight was mismarked as it seemed heavier than marked. Good shooter but I struggled with the first shot. After I warmed up it was fine. Seemed like it was a fairly heavy (mass weight) bow compared to some other 3-piece bows but was very stable shooting.
The bow will be fine at your 29".
