I just ordered some 1535 gt blems from big jim for my girlfriend and she shoots a  35 lb. (black bear) and a 40 lb. (Kodiak mag).27-28 in. draw  I think we can make them work , what do you all think.
will they work?  was gonna get some 3555s but they are all gone.

LEWIS VADEN

They shoot well out of my 40 to 45 lb bows full length with 125 gr. points.  My draw is 29 1/2.  35/55 would be too stiff in my opinion.

T Folts

the 1535 will work good, the 3555 would have been stiff unless you put 175gr or more up front.

They should work good.

My wife shoots the 15-35 Blems from 39 lbs out of a longbow. Her draw is short though...about 25 inches.

I started out leaving the arrows full length.

Ended up with a 29 1/2 in arrow and 175 grain tips. Just about 400 grains total weight.

They shoot GREAT. Thru paper, they leave a perfect bullet hole.

ok, thanks guys. I got her some 145 grn. points. im sure I have some other weights around here to work with.

Hermon

I shoot them out of 45-47# bows, cut to 28.75"
Should work if you leave them long.

Jasper2

Perfect choice for those draw weights.
Take care,

They should work fine if you leave em' long and put 150-200 up front.

Shot 'em out of all my 40's# bows. Used full length with 125 tips. Shot awesome.

Flying Dutchman

I use them full length on my 45 to 48 lbs bows at a 29 inch draw. Bows are center cut and I use a 100 grains field tip. So I am sure she will be ok, but will have to use heavier points.3555 will be way too stiff...
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

SBD strings on all, what else?

With field pts, you can generally get arrows too stiff to fly pretty well. the 1535's are likely too stiff for the 35lb bow but should still fly well with field pts.

I'm pretty sure we still have a few 3555's (way too stiff for either of her bows) but they are of the newest delivery and are at a slightly higher price.

I just try to live my life in a way that would have made my father proud.

Mint

I shoot them out of my 47lb palmer cut to 28" and with 125gr field points. I would guess the 145gr points will work.

They will work great out of a 40 pound bow we use them in our 35 and 40 pound bows with great success.

If she is not going to hunt with them, but only target shoot, the G.T Entrada 600 is the same spine only lighter in weight and might be a better shaft for her.

I'v had great success with 1535's and Ultralight 600's on bows from 38# - 47#'s.  29.5" arrows with 125g-145g up front.
