I need a string for this and any info would help. What length string? Is it cut to center ?

I am interested in shooting woodies out of it (Doug fir) ,what spine do you think I need if I shoot a 145/150 tip?

Mine takes a 57" actual string length and likes about 8" of brace. I'm not much help on wood arrows.

They are sweet shootin bows all the way around.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!

For arrow help we need to know the actual draw weight at your draw length...I shoot my HH that is marked 55 pounds at about 63 pounds...as far as I know they were never cut even close to centre

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

I have a 1968 Hunter that is marked 62" but takes a 56.5" string. The 62" was before AMO. Using correct measurements the bow is 61" AMO.

I have two Howatt Hunters. I have Flemish strings on them, 58" to start with, twisted to get 7-1/2 to 7 3/4 brace height.

Many folks of "the day" used to string their recurved bows up backward for storage, that is, put the string onto the top and bottom nocks... in front of the bow.

I am not saying that this practice is good or bad, but it may shed a bit of light as to approximate string length needs.  Measure this distance and it is a good start.
