Folks,
I'm heading to San Diego, California on a vacation the week of January 26th through February 1st... Any ideas for Traditional Adventure out there? Never been to California, just wondering if I should pack the bow and engage out there.... Any advice, thoughts, or experience with the area would be appreciated!?

Thanks in advance,

KAZ

out of state is pricy for license. Balboa park still has a range, but I did not get to shoot it last weekend when we had the family there for the feast.  we did take in Seaworld and the zoo with grandkids-pretty good time.

If the weather holds you might not want to go home. For actual hunting it's pretty limited. For shooting there's a nice scenic range in Balboa Park open to the public you can google. There also is the southwest regional Olympic training center nearby that's worth a tour....enjoy..Tom.

Too bad you couldn't get out here sooner, turkey season is Nov 9 thru Dec 8. Cleveland National Forest (San Diego county) has lots of turkeys. The CNF has wild pigs too, season is year round -  http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/home/?cid=stelprdb5304654

Last time I was there I was at a training at a camp about an hour Northeast in some small mountains and there were a bajillion rabbits all over the place. If the season was open might be fun to find some public land and roam around.

Check the shoot schedule for San Diego archers and bear state archers to see if there is one while you are here. Easy to google.

Hilarious to see what people post about San Diego.
