Toelke grip

Considering the purchase of a Toelke Whip bow

this will be my first bow
I have chosen the take down model
64 inches and 35 pounds
but I don't which grip to take could you explain me low, medium or hight wrist grip
I will be shooting it instinctively only

he mailed him and a couple of hour a return
plus a welcome and phone number asking me to phone him and discuss
but before doing this would like to know a bit on the subject so I won't look to dum

Well the Whips come with a standard grip (with a thumb locator) that is low/medium or you can get the Classic Whip which is low.  It really just depends on your preference. I prefer the thumb locator of the standard Whip....it really helps my hand slide in to he same position every time.

just the low or medium is in doubt

the standard straight grip or the locator grip

I thought that there was different palm swell on the locator grip....

this wont be your last bow, and i am  sure your style and preferences will morph with time.. whichever ever one you get will be a great bow- after all its a toelke.. not trying to diminish the value of your question- its very valid. all i'm saying is dont be saddened as your preferences change- its normal. besides now that you are addicted- there will be many more!!!!

I personally much prefer a low grip which will be somewhat straight allowing the grip to rest evenly along the heel of your hand under the tension of the draw. A medium grip has more mass at the heel of your hand forcing the area of your hand between the thumb and index (pointing) finger forward increasing tension there. A high grip is found almost exclusively on recurves and is built with even more mass at the heel of your hand forcing it down and putting almost all tension on the area between thumb and index finger. It's all a matter of personal preference but I don't care for medium grips and high grips give me chills and fever.
