I heard rumor that some 25-30 deer were found dead along a 2 mile stretch of river over near Danville, IL. I'm getting this info 2nd maybe 3rd hand from my brother-in-law, so I was wondering if anyone else had heard of it or could collaborate.  If so, that's the first I've heard of it in the this part of the state?

I'm over near Springfield.  Haven't heard anything about it yet.

Lake Shelbyville area was hit hard last year with EHD.

Burnsie that's my neighbor hood and I have not heard or seen any signs of ehd this year. However across the state line and a bit south along the wabash river the area between Clinton Indiana and montezuma Indiana had a pretty rough bout this year. It seemed to be contained to the river bottoms which is kind of strange. I can personally vouch for the ehd in that area this year.

We were hit hard last year as well. I am about thirty minutes from lake Shelbyville and this year so far have not seen any mature does only year and a half. I think it took its toll on our mature herd. We will have to see late3r on how many mature bucks we see. Really a terrible thing!   :(

I've heard anecdotal reports about several people "whose friends found 20-30 dead deer" during the late Summer dry period, but here are the only official numbers I have seen reported so far:

I am not sure if it was EHD, but Jasper County and northern Crawford County have experienced a severe decline in herd population.

Jasper eliminated their late season firearms seasons.

Thanks guys, I'll try and see if I can get some more definitive information from my brother-in-law.
