Really enjoyed the story. The valley sounds like heaven. Kinda made me feel 12 years old there for a bit.

Neat. And lucky.

These guys are not always interested in "safe sex".

I called in a big bull that looked more like a draft horse coming on- at six yards I shied him away.
This fall I had to throw a stick the size of a mans forearm into the snoot of a bull that was coming in.
Don't take chances- its the one in 100 lunitic bull you want to plan for, not the 99 others that will walk off with a just little prompting.

That's the type of experience that makes a hunt!
One stick, one string and an arrow I'll fling!

Been there except I did release an arrow with a plastic blunt on it. At 7 yards he put his head down and started for me again so he got one right on the end of the nose. He swapped ends and left RIGHT NOW!!!!
I was walking out and he had spotted from at least a half a mile away from across an open park. Guess he was lonely or something like that.   :D
