Thanks guys, I hate I couldn't bring him home.  But the experience was awesome anyway.  I try to do a lot of stuff to get my blood flowing but it's really amazing how just being in the presence of God's amazing creatures will get your heart racing.  I may not have got the buck but I am content in the experience.  I have a friend who cant seem to understand that but today I have been truly blessed.  And who knows maybe me an ol' Sabre Noggin will cross paths again lol.

chances are if you did shoot you would of hit him high or over the back,,,  when that tail is up or they are acting that tense you got to pick a spot real low me I like right under the armpit..

Good for you... It takes a mature hunter to pass a nervous deer even though it is in range. Sometimes the best shot is the one you passed on. My hat is off to you.

Chances are, in this situation, the best you could have hoped for is a clean miss. The worst, a wounded animal, and a truly sickening feeling in your gut. You definitely made the right call. Good job...keep at it!
