I know that this thing is plenty tall for recurves, but is designed mostly for shooting a compound while standing. but my question is this: are the windows too high for shooting a recurve while seated? it appears to me that they are. I have a Huntmore chair that is adjustable, and I've practiced a lot shooting while seated. is it possible to shoot well out of these while seated?

I have a Big Mike XT and use a Huntmore 360 and it works great.

thanks, MOFISH! do you know about how high it is from the floor to the bottom edge of the lowest window?

I have a Big Mike and all of my current seats were too low. A couple pieces of 4X4 added to the bottom of them solved that!

My Big Mike has the snake eye windows. Plenty low enough for me sitting on my niff-t-seat.

I am going to raise my seat a bit but I will also have to stand for some shots since I have mine on a platform 12 feet in the air. This changes the angle of the shots some.

I can shoot without a problem using just a generic fold up chair.  My only beef is that it won't stand up to a bear trying to get at the PB&J sandwich my daughter left in it...  I will buy another though!

Mine has snake eye windows also. I can set on bucket and shoot a turkey on the ground a few feet away if it is in line with the windows.  the high windows would be a little harder to shoot out of setting.

I'm a pretty tall guy, and I think the windows are too high. For deer it should be ok, but for turkeys, at about 10-12 yards, I think they're too high.

thanks for the info, guys. i don't know whether the snake-eyes windows are available anymore on the Big Mike models. i measured the height last night with a measuring tape at 80", and the bottom window appears to be at least 40" up. i sat in my Huntmore chair with the legs fully extended, and i could just barely clear the lowest part of the window from there, seated.

sure wish the windows were a little lower. kinda messes up your upper limb clearance if you have to stand up.

i do appreciate all you guys weighing in!

Set my Big Mike up today with a tall Huntmore seat and seems great to me. You can move around, shoot sitting or standing. I shoot 58"  to 60" long bows basically.
