I love Montana

I got to meet a few trad archers earlier this weekend, in Mark Baker and Tim Roberts. Both stand up gentlemen, didn't get to visit as long as I would have liked due to a time crunch, but there's always another day I suppose. I was shooting a little bit, and Mr. Roberts noticed how my arrows can get squirrely. He offered up two of his beautiful wooden arrows for me to shoot, and they flew better than any arrow I have shot out of my Tall Tines. I had stubbornly stuck with carbon from my compound days...but I just couldn't get them to fly well for me. Not sure if wood is more forgiving, or whatever the case is but those arrows flew fantastic for me and have me looking in to more! Mr. Roberts also makes some sweet quivers and armguards, check out Farr West Leather to take a look!

I met both of them fellas at the Compton shoot this past June. Good guys with a good bit of talent and generosity.
BTW, I to love Montana and miss it everyday.

I can't believe how nicely these woodies shoot! Was shooting in the grass behind my apartment, had to shoot @ different spots for fear of robin hooding an arrow! I really enjoy trad archery, but was getting frustrated with inconsistent arrow flight....not anymore!!! It brings a whole other level of enjoyment to watch the arrow fly perfectly right to where I'm looking!

I miss Montana! Live it up in Bozeman! It doesn't get much better than that!

I missed out on meeting those guys while I was still there. Hopefully I'll get to meet them at the PBS gathering in Cinci.

Give me a call sometime and we talk some about Bozeman and hunting.

It's easy to love woodies as they have a nature about them that is all their own.

I just wish I could develop a love for building them...lol

"I HATE MAKING ARROWS!!"....lol

About the only thing I hate almost as badly,,,is breaking them but at least I get to smell the sweet aroma of cedar when it happens..lol

I've never had the opportunity to spend any time visiting with Mr Baker one on one but did get to hear him speak once and I was impressed.

If you still want to shoot your carbons try a bear weather rest. Im sure glad I did. I have never had such good arrow flight. I was reluctant to try one myself cause I thought I liked shooting off the shelf and didnt like the looks of the weather rest. Four dollars later and Ill probably never shoot off the shelf again with a recurve.
