It may have been posted (I didn't read them all) but I know that Missouri's white oaks were hit hard by the late freeze we had in April. White oak production will be bad this year. Good news is that red oaks (which produce on a two year cycle) will be heavy. We should set a harvest record for Missouri this year. The deer will be easier to hunt than the past two years.

Hardly any acorns at all here in southern Michigan.

I found some overcup oaks today that were over 1 inch in diameter after the hull was peeled off.  Big uns given that my section of Ohio is classifed as "extreme drought conditions".  They ain't lyin either.  I can't remember the last time it rained.  But this big ole oak is tossin off acorns (akerns to you southern boys) like you can't believe.

Haven't had any on our trees in two years. I went and checked other places(about a 20 mile radius) and no acorns there either.   "[dntthnk]"
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
